Become part of the National Dysfluency CEN committee

What role is available?

Study Day Coordinator: Heather Rigby came to the end of her term as Study Day Coordinator at the end of April 2020. The Study Day Coordinator role is a joint role which is shared with two others and involves the organisation of three study days per year. The Committee as a whole help with the development of the programme and support the organisation and implementation of the day. Oli Cheadle and Ali Berquez, existing Study Day Coordinators, will remain in post and you will work alongside them to organise the upcoming study days.

What is the committment?

There are two Committee meetings per year and each Committee member is requested to submit an end of year report to summarise activities within their area. Travel to attend the committee meetings is funded by the CEN and a subsidy may be requested to attend the study days to ensure that there enough of the Committee there to facilitate the day. Our most recent meeting was ‘virtual’, something we are exploring in order to reduce costs as much as possible.

Committee membership is a three year role, which will add to your professional profile, CV, and provide many CPD opportunities.

How do I apply

If you would like to apply, please submit a brief statement to our chair Kevin Fower (kevin.fower@nhs.net) before June 10th, 2020, summarising in no more than 500 words your professional background and why you are interested in the role. Submissions will then be reviewed by the committee, with a final decision expected before the end of June 2020.

Please forward this information to your local SIGs and colleagues.

We look forward to hearing from you!
